When I started on my journey to health and fitness…

The notion of resting was non-existent.

I didn’t understand the importance of it nor did I want to because…

I thought it was going against everything I was doing in turning my lifestyle around.

As exercising, healthy eating and just living the lifestyle was so new and exciting to me…

I simply did not want to stop!

I’m in for another round!

Plus…

Why stop when all I did for years was put on the breaks when it came to keeping myself on the move!

I was in it, I was full of energy and…

I was excited to see all the results that were to come my way!

As time went on…

Little did I know that resting was a large part of keeping my body and mind in check and healthy too!

The reality…

When my trainer advised me that I couldn’t simply keep on going and going and going without ever stopping…

I couldn’t comprehend why?

I mean…

I had so much energy to dispense (7 years of inactivity goes a long way lol) that..

All I wanted to do was put it use! (I was on a roll and nothing was going to stop me!)

But, I did. I had to.

After realizing and being informed that resting was a key component to healthy living…

I had to come to the realization that giving myself time to rest was just as important as keeping myself active too! (And I did!)

If I was going to be living a healthy lifestyle…

I had to learn that going full throttle all the time wasn’t actually good for me!

That…

Every machine needs to be turned off from time to time in order to recharge and get back at it! (It makes sense once you put things into perspective)

Now, three years later…

I make every effort to ensure that I take the required rest my body and mind need in order to sustain the lifestyle I want to live by!

Being in tune with my overall self and understanding that whether or not I feel ‘tired’…

Including time to rest in my schedule is essential to my overall well-being!

With that being said…
